Daltons Heritage and Cultural Centre

January 13, 2017

Daltons Heritage and Cultural Centre,  at 9 Emmet Street, Tipperary Town.

This house was purchased back in 1990. It was very run down and dilapidated. In the same year the owners successfully lobbied for a heritage grant from from the EU and out of 1140 applications made within the EU, only 26 were awarded and Daltons was one of them. In fact Daltons was the only project in Ireland to receive funding. The money was used to renovate the building back to its original state when it was built in 1890. It now stands as a testimony to the heritage of the New Tipperary.
