Fresh Basil Pesto Recipe


"This basil pesto recipe is  delicious  with pasta, sandwiches and salads.

Try it; it's very easy to make"


  • Prep time: 15 minutes


  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves)

  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/3 cup pine nuts

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


Put the basil leaves, pine kernels and garlic in a food processor and process.

With the motor running, slowly add the olive oil in a thin stream until a paste is formed.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl, add the cheese and process until smooth.

Transfer to a bowl; add salt and pepper to taste and store in sealed jars in the refrigerator for up to one week.
